Francis literally means "From France" and is name of a collection of modern Persian rugs by Boustani Glorious Handicrafts proudly have "French-origination" and truly are output of artistical, historical and cultural exchanges of French and Iranian nations. As you know, records of weaving handmade textiles in Europe back to centuries ago and undoubtedly, top rank between them belongs to French carpets and tapestries. The years between 1620 to 1860 or in other words, years between the reign of Henry IV, the beginning of Louis XIII and the end of Louis XVI's rule, are historical and leading time of French carpets weaving. At this period time, official workshops for weaving carpets in France was launched. The most outstanding workshops of French carpets belonged two companies named Savonnerie and Aubusson that both of them were under direct management of royal court until the early 19th century. It should be said that approximately all of the French rugs that are well-known for experts and global carpet lovers are products of these two companies. Savonnerie, Aubusson, Gobelin are leading names of French carpet weaving history and inseparable part of royal, luxury interior spaces between 17th to 19th centuries. French carpets mostly have oval medallions and the main motif in these carpets is floral and leafy details with light shades in the center and border which seem very natural, elegant.
